Till it rang

Someone clipped my wings, infused my fingertips

Till the ink ran in, tried to sink into my skin

Something stroked my hair from the damp cold air

Till the chill I felt, tried to fill me with despair

Some strange suits took my eyes from their cave

Till images blurred in a sea of red, in a warped loud rave

Something from within sounded loud and deep

Till I shuddered and I shook, it echoed in my sleep

Someone reached in, pulled my body from the fire

Till the lava melted that was cloaking my desire

Someone who was I, breathed a note so pure

Till it rang in silence only the deaf secured

Someone saw me for the first time, without my shield

Till I lay down my sword, till our colours ran…congealed
